What Did You Think?

I wished I could have seen the movie. I was thinking about my figure skating friends last night knowing that they were going.

Can anyone tell me what you thought?

Here's the RISE facebook page itself, asking the very same question. So far 248 people "liked" it.

Very moving tribute. Made me proud to be a skater.

People told me it was Old Home Day-- everyone in the community was there. So I kinda missed that. On the other hand, being a cranky old broad I hate that kind of forced camaraderie. I'm going to go on the 7th, to a movie theater in another galaxy where I won't run into anyone I know.

Thanks anon and Xan. I imagine this will also come out on DVD, so maybe I'll get a chance to see it.

Meanwhile, I've recorded the new Ice Castles on our DVR, so I've got some "research" to do.

thanks again!

I thought it was very well done with the limited time they had, and such a broad subject. Wish that they could have touched on all the skaters, but maybe on the DVD...

I did hear from others that it was difficult to follow if you didn't know the skaters from the 1961 team. I happened to have read one of the books that came out about the team before hand, so I was fine, but I could see how it could be confusing just walking in to the movie without prior knowledge.

My advice to people who don't know much about the team is to get familiar with them via articles or Youtube or read one of the books before you go, you'll have a much more enjoyable time.

Thanks sk8rmomp! I agree, read the book first.
