Spinning Out

Let's hope the show is not down and "out" yet.

There is a petition on change.org to save Spinning Out and it's already got 18,000+ signatures. Click on the link below, if you want to add yours.
And in the meantime, if any of you thought I want all that skating drama, but I'm missing some penguins .... well, I've got you covered.

I loved this show! It was so well acted and way more grown up than most "skater" movies about teenagers. I really hope they make a season 2 just because I love these characters (even the idiot twins). But at the same time, I feel like the story is done. Kinda like the end of Cutting Edge (first one from the early 90s). You don't find out if they win because that's not the point.

I admit I have only seen the first four episodes. I will finish them though. Don't you feel as if the show is a bit of eye candy for skating ... training in a beautiful setting, practice sessions with hardly anyone on the ice, a great sound track to stir the mood, and of course, beautiful people. All of them.

If you're looking for a similar story, without a story that's been done to death, I recommend Dance Academy (now showing only on YouTube, I'm afraid) from Australia. It's about the National Ballet School in Australia for students lucky enough to get in the competitive world of ballet. There's so many parallels to skating and the show is hip and clever.
